Mission Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation Sponsors Worship Service and Workshop
Dancing With Depression
Julia McKay

Fremont, CA
Sunday, Sept 17th single event Worship 10-11am, Workshop 12-2pm
Worship Service: 10:00 AM
Often when we are depressed the last thing that we feel inclined to do is to be with others and do something we enjoy. Yet, opposite action is one of the best ways to lift depression. Find out how we can PLAY together with respect for our travels into, and through, the dark places. Let your spirit be nourished by the warmth of community as we explore the wisdom of bringing more grace and ease to our journeys with mood swings and depression. Whether you are a person that suffers with mental health issues yourself, or have a family member that suffers, this day is for you! The church service will be followed by a potluck and two hour workshop.
Guest Musician and Speaker: Julia McKay, Worship Associate: Barbara Meyers
Workshop: 12:00 noon – 2:00pm
This 2-hour workshop which follows the worship service, incorporates the forms of InterPlay® as a model for enjoying life again. Interplay® is a creative and spiritual practice using movement, spoken word, and music to explore life''s scary and wondrous themes. Learn how to lead life in more playful, embodied, and powerful ways. The workshop leader is Julia McKay who is currently a Unitarian Universalist Candidate for Ministry, in her third year at the Starr King School for the Ministry. She is also a recording artist, InterPlay leader, and former educator and psychotherapist. Please join us for this fabulous day!!
Note: There will be a brief potluck between the church service and the workshop. A full belly is a happy player!!
