March 28th - March 30th

InterPlay's Art & Social Change Weekend workshop invites you to explore the powerful role that art plays in shaping social transformation. Through InterPlay's tools and forms, you'll deepen your understanding of how creative practices can challenge injustice and foster change. This is an opportunity to nurture your artistic gifts, not only for personal growth but also for community-building and advancing justice. By engaging with folks interested in the same, you'll strengthen your ability to use art as a tool for collective action and social impact, contributing to a more equitable and compassionate world.

For those still new to InterPlay, it is an active and creative approach to unlocking the wisdom of the body. It is easy, fun, and life changing, and you do not need to consider yourself creative to play! InterPlay’s simple forms guide participants through movement and stories, songs and silence, ease and amusement. In the process, we discover the wisdom in ourselves and our communities. And welean into growth through ease and affirmation.

No previous InterPlay experience needed.

Leaders
Gigi Koser Baradan
Gigi Baradan is a life-long student and teacher of many healing modalities, including laughter, play, spiritual deepening and flu shots. She has been InterPlaying for over 20 years, and leading for over 10. She says it keeps her flexible in both body and spirit. Playfulness has been a potent antidote to her conservative upbringing and to her "serious" profession as a pharmacist. Perhaps her favorite InterPlay practice is simply to "take a deep breath and let it out with a sigh". It's Transformative every time!
Agnotti Cowie
Agnotti Cowie (they/she) attended the first ever “Art & Social Change: InterPlay for Millennial Leaders” in 2010. Since, she joined InterPlay’s national board as well as becoming a certified InterPlay leader. Agnotti facilitates workshops worldwide employing a variety of pedagogical techniques such as InterPlay, Theatre of the Oppressed, Devising, puppetry and clown. Currently they are based in Chicago where they lead workshops in schools, organizations and with social movements including as Co-Artistic Director of Opera-Matic, bringing participatory arts to public spaces. Recently, they have taken their work around the globe teaching InterPlay workshops in India, Germany, Australia, Bali and Chile.
