Hooplas!

The InterPlay community now has a new ritual called the “Hoopla!” which can be used to celebrate all sorts of life-transitions. We often have to jump through hoops to get where we need to go.

Listen to InterPlay co-founder Cynthia Winton-Henry’s story about the development of the Hoopla!

InterPlay in Morocco

Diane Saliba Ault and Masankho Banda will lead a group of 20 InterPlayers (American and Australian) to Morocco June 3–15, 2008 on a mission of cultural exchange. They will be attending the Festival of World Sacred Music in Fes and meeting and playing with extended family and friends of Diane’s son–in–law, Zouhair, in Rabat and Marakesh.

InterPlay will provide the foundation for travelers to process their experiences as well as provide the bridge across differences in language and faith between the InterPlay travelers and Moroccan locals.

Dance Anywhere 2008

“Dance Anywhere Day” happened on Friday, April 25, 2008. InterPlayers danced and drummed on all four corners of the intersection of 23rd Street and Telegraph Avenue in downtown Oakland, CA, right outside of InterPlayce. Check out the video!

Photos from the Malawi Trip

InterPlay founders Cynthia Winton-Henry & Phil Porter teamed up with WING IT! member and International InterPlay leader, Masankho Banda, to take a group of InterPlayers to Masankho’s homeland in Africa. 43 InterPlayers from the United States and Australia went to visit the village of Tukombo in Malawi as peace ambassadors. They played, connected, learned, and experienced a world that changed their global point of view.

Read their reflections in the Malawi blog.

Here are photos taken by Ron Ault and Baina Masquelier on the trip.
