Sukhmani Kohli: With an experience in theatre of 15 years, she has designed and directed plays in theatre and clowning and loves telling and listening to stories. She runs Purple Mangoes, a company of facilitators who call themselves experience builders, gleaners and artists. Currently, along with teaching theatre to young people, she performs as a clown and also teaches the sacred art of Red Nose Clowning. Her work as a clown and facilitator is centred around holding spaces and experiences for people of all ages where they feel free to be real and authentic and have deep, transformative conversations. She is trained in facilitating decision making through participatory leadership using processes from 'The Art of Hosting’. She leads ‘InterPlay’ which is a practice that uses movement, sound and storytelling to bring instant ’playfulness’ and spontaneity within individuals or groups of people. Sukhmani is a walk-out from conventional education system, and in 2008, started and ran a community cafe ‘Cafe Kaffee Kuchh’ for 4 years. She also drove with 7 friends to 7 cities of India in a cafe-in-a-van called Cafe Bean Here Bean There. She is a co-founder of India Youth Jam and has organised and facilitated jams for 5 years. ‘Jams’ are week long gatherings of young change makers from around India, giving activists an opportunity to pause and take time to reflect on their personal, interpersonal and systematic relationships and being in community to heal and move forward with renewed spirits and energy.
