Join InterPlay Co-Founder Cynthia Winton-Henry and InterPlay Leader Masankho Banda in unlocking the wisdom of the ancestral body. Cultures around the world celebrate, dance with, tell stories about and pray on behalf of and with the Ancestors. A healthy connection to our past empowers us to be like trees with healthy root systems. InterPlay is a unique vehicle for diving into understanding the role of ancestors in our lives through movement, voice, stories and stillness. Creativity and imagination can strengthen our historical bodies, bring us new sources of support and prepare us for the future.

Weekend will include:
• Dancing on behalf of and with the ancestors
• Visits to sacred groves
• Following and Leading with ancestor information
• Singing songs of our ancestors from our body wisdom
• Sharing stories of our ancestors

You can expect to :
• Grow in your understanding of InterPlay
• Uncover knowing’s from your past
• Dream deeper in your future
• Have a weekend of fun exploration

Thur: 7-9 pm
Fri: 9:30 am-noon, 1:30-4 pm, 7-9 pm
Sat: 10 am-noon, Potluck Lunch, 1:30-4 pm, 7-9 pm
Sun: 10 am-noon

Course meets the qualifications for 20 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behaviorial Sciences. CEUs PE 2583
Refunds will be given up to two days before the event, minus a 20.00 processing fee.

InterPlayce is the center of the InterPlay universe. The offices for Body Wisdom, Inc. are also located here. The building is at the corner of 23rd and Telegraph, one block north of West Grand. It is just a few blocks from the 19th Street Downtown Oakland BART station, and on several convenient bus lines. On-street parking is always available at night and metered during the day. Cynthia is one of the founders of InterPlay. She is a teacher, performer, writer, and organizer. With Phil Porter she provides leadership to InterPlayers around the world and others interested in reintegrating body wisdom in their life and community practices. Her books include What the Body Wants, Northstone Press, Dance: A Sacred Art: Discovering the Joy of Movement as Spiritual Practice, SkyLight Paths Publishing, and Chasing the Dance of Life: A Faith Journey, Apocryphile Press and Having It All: Body, Mind, Heart & Spirit Together Again at Last.

Masankho Banda

Masankho is a multi - disciplinary Performing Artist, Certified InterPlay Leader, Educator and PeaceBuilder. He brings many unique perspectives to his work around the world. He learned the fine arts of storytelling and dance from his Malawian culture spending many long days and nights listening to stories and dancing to music that captivated his mind, shaped his being, nourished his soul and strengthened his spirit. Using performing arts Masankho motivates and inspires people of all ages to work together to bring about peace, social justice and cultural understanding. In 1997, he started UCanDanc’ African Healing Arts to bring his passion for dance and storytelling to communities around the world. Masankho has been a Certified InterPlay Leader since 1999.
